Job description

We’re looking for a Product Designer to help us build UXfolio, our parent company’s flagship product. UXfolio is a website builder with a clear mission: help junior UX designers build lovable UX portfolios that turn their career dreams into reality.

You’ll be contributing to this mission in a small team of 3 product designers, 4 developers, 2 marketers, and a determined product lead. Together, we cultivate a supportive and open-minded environment that celebrates uniqueness, efficiency, and drive. Our work and product strategy are guided by four core values: easy – we reject overcomplication; different – we think outside the box; delightful – we go beyond just getting it done; and stable – we build things that last.

What you bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience designing digital products or platforms in tech, startups, or creative agencies.

  • Strong UX thinking: ability to turn insights into clear user flows and intuitive interactions.

  • Systematic thinking: you design beyond individual screens, connecting components and patterns into cohesive, scalable systems.

  • Craft excellence: refined sense of layout, typography, color, and hierarchy for clean, balanced interfaces.

  • Autonomy and ownership: independently scope problems, set hypotheses, prioritize trade-offs, and drive work from concept to shipped without constant direction.

  • Experience with user research and usability testing (running usability tests/interviews) and synthesizing findings into actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, and prototyping.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English.

  • Based in Hungary and available to visit our Budapest office twice a week.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate complex user and business needs into cohesive, intuitive design solutions.

  • Design with systems in mind, ensuring patterns, interactions, and components scale coherently across features.

  • Create sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate ideas effectively.

  • Validate designs through user research and usability testing.

  • Use analytics and behavioral data to measure impact, identify opportunities, and inform design decisions.

  • Maintain, document, and advocate for reusable components within our design system to ensure visual and functional consistency.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, marketers, and the product lead for seamless delivery.

  • Stay current with UX/UI trends, emerging tools, and best practices.

Skills:

  • UX & systematic thinking: designing coherent, scalable experiences rooted in user needs.

  • Ownership & execution: independently scope problems, set hypotheses, break down work, manage timelines, and maintain momentum; proactively unblock yourself and others.

  • Visual design & systems: craft balanced interfaces with strong layout, hierarchy, typography, and color; create, maintain, and advocate for reusable components and documentation.

  • User research: plan discovery research, run usability tests, and synthesize findings into decisions.

  • Collaboration & communication: work closely with PM, engineering, and marketing; articulate rationale and document decisions clearly.

  • Technical awareness: responsive design, accessibility fundamentals, and developer-friendly handoff.

  • Tools & growth: proficiency in Figma (components, variants, prototyping); receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
